T O P I C R E V I E WLonakeAs per the topic for this thread: It does not happen. In reading some analyses on this forum I see people looking at, say, Moon square Saturn as pointing out an aspect for depression, and at the next second they will point to their Moon trine Jupiter and say, "Hey, I have that trine so really, don't look at me for depression, cos I got some built-in medicine for that."Here is a basic fact when reading a chart: aspects do not cancel each other out. A so-called positive aspect put next to a so-called negative aspect does not render their combined effect neutral. More likely for this person is one of two specific scenarios.1) There will be a gut reaction of Saturn lamenting, "Oh no not this again, things will never work out my way." And then Jupiter can be next chiming in, "Go indulge, go call up your Mom to hear some nice words, get some friends together and go dance it out at a club and get drunk."2) There will be a gut reaction of Jupiter, "Oh, no biggie, this doesn't really matter, everything will be fine." And then Saturn can chime in castigating, "You're lazy and you'll never get anything done because that is your problem: you never worry."So you have two completely different trains of thought when we are looking at this person's Moon and lunar reactions. They're not neutral, very often if they are very different, as per the example, you will have warring factions inside the person that point to their complexity. charmainecAgreed.RandallGood stuff!------------------"To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing." Aristotleabcd efgOK. eg. if a person has Sun conj venus in gemini with lilith which makes him a flirt and has moon in cancer which is very loyal and emotional then according to this theory they won't cancel each other out. So, he will be both a flirt and a loyal person? Am i right? But isn't this opposing? LonakeMoon in Cancer, I see it as surely a sensitive placement, they're adorable and loyal in their way to those they care for. Sun conj Venus in gem can be flirty, but Sun/Venus wants to be partnered, they don't like being alone at night, Moon in Cancer will incline them to be more sensitive to their needs (and those of their partner on their good days). With lilith I don't really look at asteroids so can't speak to that. Opposing, no, but it is complex, the person has about 4 diff drives operating here: Sun conj Venus inclines to wanting beauty and gentleness and partnership, inclines also to wanting the partner to be a showstopper in some way she needs to have talent or something that wows him, she cannot blend in, the Gemini says talk to me let me know what is happening and do not bore me, and Moon in Cancer says above all don't hurt me but they can also be overwhelmed by their needs, so you stir that pot (and other elements in the chart) and you have a multifaceted picture that forms. If they're bored (no-no to gemini) and the mate is creating a hostile atmosphere starting arguments all over the place (no-no to sun conj venus) and if they feel as if their needs are laughed at and not taken seriously (no-no to cancer moon) then with this person you likely have a recipe that is ripe for looking elsewhere, whether they cheat or end the relationship, but bottom line is if this continues for a long enough amount of time they'll want out.abcd efgThanks Lonake. Actually we are working on a synastry in personal reading and we thought that the two effects would cancel eachother. But it doesn't appear to be so. Hence the query.RandallThanks for clarifying.------------------"To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing." Aristotle
